“there are so many opportunities open to females that I never heard of when I had to work but as to being LIBERATED - I think I have always been free and liberated - so what’s new?”

Letter from my great-grandmother to my mother, Dec. 1986

I’m a writer, editor, cook, and cellarhand, depending on the time of year. I studied English Literature and Physics at Brooklyn College, through the Macaulay Honors College, with a minor in New York City Studies. My writing and research focuses on culture, labor, agriculture, and the food and wine industries. I speak French. I love Lucia Berlin and Lauren Berlant.

Previously, I was a Community Organizer for housing and education justice with ERASE Racism on Long Island, and a UX/UI Recruiter for The New York Times.
